Burna Boy’s protege, Daniel Benson, popularly known as Buju or Buju to your ears has shared the reasons behind unconventional PR strategies used in the music industry.
In an interview with Hip Tv, the L’enu singer asserts that not all publicity is good publicity. According to him, publicity can either make or break an artist. He noted that though publicity is paramount in the music industry, not all publicity is positive. In his own words, he said:
“Personally, I can say every publicity isn’t good Publicity. Trust me… Publicity is good for the business, sometimes you know…”
Buju also talked about Ageism in the music industry. He opines that younger artists look up to the older artists for inspiration and learning. He added that it will be difficult to have discrimination and agesim coming from these older artists.
“I don’t like to believe that ageism exists in the Music industry. We the younger artists look up to the older ones for inspiration and learning from them. Agesim is not a thing for me, it has never happened to me. I have never experienced it for once”, he said.
